Subject: Semaphore lock on a mailbox
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Domino Server
Technical Area: Administration
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.3
Reproducible: Unknown

Hello all,

This post is in continuation to this earlier post(http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd85forum.nsf/5f27803bba85d8e285256bf10054620d/1cd6c371fbc45f2385257aef003d9a78?OpenDocument&Highlight=0,semaphore).

The issue seemed to be resolved at that juncture. We opened a ticket with IBM and after analyzing our logs, they informed us that this is something related to disk I/O which we are not very convinced with. However, we deleted the mailbox in question and restored the same from a backup server. Everything seemed alright, at least until last week.

Last week, the issue started happening again to the same user surprisingly. We moved him to the backup server but even there the issue persisted which was not the case during the earlier occurence of this. Below is an excerpt from the console log of one of the servers.

I've upgraded the server from 8.5.3 FP1 to 8.5.3 FP3 today but still the issue is not resolved. I think it should be worth mentioning here that these locks have become an issue for us after we upgraded from Domino 8.5.1 on Windows 2003 to Domino 8.5.3 Windows 2008 around 4 months back.
